Modular & Transformable Clothing

During the three semesters before senior year at Parsons School of Design, I explored the possibilities, benefits and opportunities for modular and transformable clothing. This refers to any garment meant to be combined, adjusted or altered by the wearer in any sort of way. Originally inspired by my "Value of Clothing" case study, this topic is analyzed as a design method to fundamentally increase a garment's value as it relates to use, function, durability and sustainability.

The following publication summarizes all of my research conducted on the topic from February of 2023 to May of 2024, including survey data, resale platforms, my own garment developments and the "Exploring Modularity: A New Way to Relate to Clothing" academic paper.
